The Character
Quilting Handbook
by Carole Cliffe
A Teachers' guide to Effective
Character Building
(for public school
use)
The book
is arranged in suggested seasonal themes and lends itself to daily
lesson
plans. However, you can use ideas out of sequence, as needed. Throughout
the text there are plans, poems, bulletin board ideas and songs. The
content
is multi-grade level, K - 9, and corresponds to the state standards in
language arts, reading, writing and math.
The Tips
for Teachers Section is especially useful for new teachers. Classroom
management techniques will support the beginning educator throughout their
school year.
Valuable
library resources are indexed in the back. In addition, the creative
social
skills songs section (also available on CD) helps reinforce values taught
throughout the book.
The poems
in the back of the book were written for staff members and are springboards
for other schools to use as personnel celebrate various special occasions.
The names in the original poems can be replaced. These poems are geared
for teachers and support staff members.
It is
the author's intent that this curriculum will serve as a valuable
resource
and give students positive guidelines towards becoming responsible, caring
citizens. |
